You want to be sure you are buying a new one from a builder that is reputable, experienced, bonded and are qualified. When you are buying a used home then you have your real estate agent that you can rely on as far as his expertise goes. If there is any problems with the house then this should declared before you purchase.
This is one reason why lawyers are used for buying and selling houses.
It has become the trend lately though for homeowners to sell their homes privately. There is nothing wrong with this and it does save a lot of money on real estate fees however, word of warning is to make sure that you use a lawyer for the transactions anyways.
If you find that you've moved into your newly used home and something really seems to be terribly wrong then the wisest thing to do is get a hold of your real estate agent that did the deal for you and if that doesn't work then you need to go back to your lawyer and take further action.
When it comes to the new home, you are going to have to resort to your lawyer to correct the problem if the contractors will not honor their work. Some builders associations handle complaints and there can be some tribunals held in these cases.

Coffee with Chicory
I recently tried New Orleans chicory coffee blend for the first time. I'd read about in historical fiction books and was always curious. So when this opportunity arose, I thought I would see what it was.
My first question was: "What is chicory?

When brewed, it is thick and tastes bitter and nothing like coffee.
Now my next question is "why use it?"

Napoleon had a plan to make Europe self-sufficient, the best substitute for French could find the coffee (as it is not widely grown in Europe, if at all) was chicory. After Napoleon's downfall, most French people went back to drinking coffee, but some never lost their fondness for chicory. It was brought, the French settlers, chicory in the southern United States. And my third question: "What does it taste?"
